Sudarsan Pattnaik

Sudarsan Pattnaik is a World Renowned sand artist. He was awarded the Padma Shri by Government of India in 2014.

He established “The Golden Sand Art Institute” which is first of its nature in India. His sculptures include environmental crisis, famous festivals, national integrity and religious tolerance.

Sudarsan has represented India in 50 international Sand Sculpture championship and festivals all around the world and Won 27 (Twenty seven) championship prizes for the country. During the year 2013, he won 1st prize (gold medal) at Saint Peters Burg in 12th International sand sculpture competition at Russia, Danish grand prizes at International Sand competition Championship, Denmark and won Moscow museum prize at Russia. In 2011 he won 1st prize and public prize at Denmark and also won double medal at Solo International sand art contest in Mervala 2012. In 2010, he won the gold medal for people choice award at 3rd Moscow World sand sculpture championship. He also won three medal in North American solo sand sculpture championship, People choice prize in Canada and Moscow. In 2009 Won the Korea sand sculpture award. In 2008 he won the World champion title at USF World sand sculpture championship, Berlin. Apart from this he is the 5 times winner of people choice award at Berlin, which is a record.

Konark International Cyclethon logo released during Global Odisha Conference held in Washington

Odisha Tourism Minister Ashok Chandra Panda released logo of Konark International Cyclethon on 3rd July during the Global Odisha Conference and OSA Convention held in Washington at Gaylord National Resort, Washington DC.

During the release of logo Roots of Odisha Foundation President and Konark International Cyclothon organizing committee Chairman Dhirendra Kar, Minister Devi Prasad Mishra, MLA Priyadarshi Mishra, ROOF senior member Prasanta Kumar Bhunya, USA-based academic Prof. Chita Baral, Lalu Mansingh, and others were presented.

Launching the logo Minister Panda appreciated the initiative of Roots of Odisha Foundation to organize Konark International Cyclethon in Konark. Tourism Minister Panda hopeful that this Cyclothon will not only increase interest in pro cycling in Odisha, but also promote the health benefits of the cycling, promote Odisha Tourism and brand Odisha across the globe.

“Konark International Cyclothon wishes to bring the synergy among the citizen, industry and government to complement the idea of sustainable, productive and healthy living. Roots of Odisha Foundation is planning to bring world’s renowned cyclists, cycling teams, celebrity cycle enthustics and others for the Konark International Cyclothon,” said Roots of Odisha Foundation President Dhirendra Kar. ROOF is planning to add whatever new ideas to put Odisha to the international arena would be done in the time to come and Konark Cyclothon was such a initiative to promote Odisha heritage places for a wider people, he further added.
